theres so much im proud of in this render. this was the completion of my blender donut 2025 course and while the lighting was the weirdest part, i was happy to have such a spread of variety. i added a little circling planet to my starry night donut which youll see further below, some sparser starlike sprinkles on the purple one to the bottom left, some generic sprinkles to the bottom right, a very nicely textured looking one for the tongue on top, and the crown jewel: the spikey one, which was born from a geometry node bug that i really loved so much. other delicious donuts are holding them up on a plate i made -

in stark contrast to blender, i was messing with MS Paint3D just cus it exists. i dont like it. this is a cube with a tree bark texture on it. why is it blue on the sides? -

not much compelled me to make this but it was surprisingly planned out. the intent behind the first one was to put regn in some vietnam wear or something? i dont really care about the vietnam war era. but the oversized helmet was meant to be kinda realistic with how helmets work best when theres spacing between it and the actual head, and this also doubles as making a wearer look so snug and protected, and the face paint adds to this by making the space between the eyes pop out more in a sliver, like the paint is also contributing to this effect. round goggles because theyre goated, second picture was me trying to have like some denimish work hood looped behind and over the ears so everything fluffs out and foreward. not sure if that worked. good looking fur is a constant struggle. also maybe the workwear looked too grizzled? (ignoring the war uniform next to her) added some shoddy eyeliner -

def my reaction when i learned how easy it was to have raytraced lighting renders in blender. the source of the light is what ive taken to calling a sun cube. the concept is just a little handheld glass cube like the size of a D6 that emits light with starlike hues. a trinket. imagined this in like a dark tavern environment. i hope i get to use this idea again -
